The team at R.W. Dyer Realty Inc. is excited to congratulate our founder Bob Dyer for the amazing achievement of serving 55 years as a member of the Cambridge Real Estate Association.
Bob Dyer first joined the Cambridge Association of REALTORS® as a real estate agent on June 9, 1967, and in short order developed a reputation for professionalism and honesty. In the early years, the association held weekly meetings to discuss what properties were for sale and listing information was typed into books and distributed weekly given to agents.
Bob soon went on to obtain his broker’s license and not long after started his own brokerage R. W. Dyer Realty Inc. In those times offers were generally written by hand at the kitchen table, and Bob’s reputation subsequently produced an offer for him to teach the real estate business to new agents working toward their own real estate licenses.
In 1973 Bob was elected the President of the Cambridge Association of REALTORS® where he was happy to serve the association and his community.
Since then, he has welcomed in his son Jack Dyer and daughter Kristen Dyer onto the team. Jack would eventually follow in his father’s footsteps to become the Broker of Record for R.W. Dyer Realty as well as the President of the Cambridge Association of REALTORS® in 1999.
Bob has seen the team here grow and develop where we now have 12 licensed real estate agents and a real estate appraiser, all of whom share the culture of client care and professionalism instilled by our founder.
Even though Bob is now a retired member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, having held the AACI (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute) designation, we regularly receive calls to our office requesting Bob to complete an appraisal, citing his kind nature and expert knowledge.
In recent years, Bob has taken a step back from many of his broker duties but is always available for a quick chat with our team – helping guide us through a variety of situations. His quick wit and sense of humour is appreciated by everyone. Our office would not be the same without him.
Join us as we all raise a glass and congratulate Mr. Bob Dyer on his 55 years of service!
