After low inventory in the first quarter of 2022 drove up prices for residential real estate, the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction.
Market sales activity and average sale prices are both down by double digits almost across the board in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the first. Higher interest rates, increased inventories, and wary buyers appear to be ushering in a turn to a buyer’s market.
With help from the Cambridge Association of REALTORS® Multiple Listings System, the team here at R.W. Dyer Realty has been able to compare and contrast real estate statistics for our key areas of Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Brantford/Brant County, Guelph and Woodstock. We used this data to create the graphics below to help put the numbers into perspective.
Please reach out to any one of our R. W. Realty agents for a more detailed assessment of how changing market conditions might influence your purchase or sale decisions.
